ABOUT
I’ve been crocheting for over forty years. I started with granny squares, & when I was in my teens, I made my first & last sweater, which took several months. It turned out great, except that it didn’t fit & I'd used the wrong yarn. I threw it away in disgust & didn’t crochet for several years. Then it became an on-again / off-again hobby, during which time I honed the craft & gave away what I’d made as gifts to friends. I developed a yarn fetish -- the seemingly infinite array of colors & textures boggled my mind. I had fantasies of spending sprees filled with mad laughter & happy splashes in free-flowing rivers of cash with which to buy all the balls & skeins & hanks of yarn I wanted!
Though I haven’t made another sweater, I’ve learned some valuable lessons, such as what I prefer to crochet -- scarves, shawls, blankets, the occasional beanie, a coaster or ten. My store is tiny because I operate on an almost nonexistent budget (half my yarn is donated). I get bored easily, so I'm always trying different patterns & stitches. I make whatever suits my fancy with whatever yarn I have on hand. I make only one of each item (though some things are made with the same pattern or stitch but in a different color or size, or you might see the same yarn used for multiple things). For every item that sells, I'll likely replace it with something totally different, & I may not make it again. But that's why crochet is so terrific -- a plethora of stitches, a bounty of variations!
Thank you for visiting my store. With so many supremely talented online artisans selling their handmade wares, I'm honored that you chose to spend time in mine. If you have questions, concerns, or helpful suggestions, please contact me.
